Matt or Gloss Kitchen...

We are getting a new kitchen, thinking about going for white Matt... however I see more people are choosing gloss.

Which is easier to keep Matt or gloss?

Gloss is much easier to keep clean. The dirt just sits on the surface andwipes off, where as matt and it ingrains itself into the surface.

I wanted matt but as we have a north facing kitchen was advised to go gloss as it reflects a bit more light.
I'm glad I did go for gloss now. It's lighter and so easy to keep clean.

Curious as I would have thought you could see every smudge and finger print on gloss? Do you not go around wiping it all day long?

I have gloss, our previous kitchen had matt. I agree with Bluntness and LemonGirl, gloss is easier to wipe clean and makes the kitchen look lighter. I was worried it might scratch easily but that hasn't been a problem so far.

Gloss just wipes clean easily, it's no issue, matt the dirt ingrains itself and it's harder to get out. I've had both. Gloss is ultimately way easier to keep clean.

Definitely gloss, much easier to clean.

We have a light grey matt kitchen and have no issues with cleaning (wet wipes work every know and again) ! I'd go with what your aesthetic preference...

We had a beautiful wood kitchen in the old house, with two dogs and DCs spent my life scrubbing the cupboard fronts. We moved into a house with a new gloss kitchen. I thought that will have to go. OMG I am a convert, it is so easy to keep clean, dust and dog hairs do not stick to it. Just a quick wipe if you see a splash. Now it is just skirting boards that I have to crawl around wiping.
