LED Bulbs

I thought I'd hit a new height of dullness when I posted about mops, but no.

I've been told that LED bulbs vary hugely in quality but are worth the expense. I need to bulk buy. Has anyone found a good source?

DH got a load from Amazon and he was pretty happy with them (he spent what felt like my entire life researching them and telling me aaaaaall about them). If I'd been paying any attention to him wittering on I might know something about the brand, but they were definitely from Amazon.

I get them from Ikea, they have a huge selection.

PigletJohn · 17/01/2019 15:59

I usually get mine from Wickes. They sell own-brand, and Phillips which are much dearer.

Huge selection, again.

I think Tesco are about twice the price.

IIRC Ikea came out well on "Which" test

Ebay are of unreliable quality, especially if they are shipped from China.

I've bought Energizer branded LED bulbs on eBay and been pleased with them.

I bought some from Wilko and they were ok

MidLifeCrisis2017 · 17/01/2019 19:59

Thanks everyone, it never occurred to me there'd be a Which report!

Don’t buy cheap ‘dimmable’ led ones from eBay... (voice of bitter experience)

I bought lots from LED Hut to replace bulbs at a rental property a few years ago and they seem ok.

www.ledhut.co.uk

They are listed on cashback sites and often have discount codes running.

I got a big trade pack from screwfix which have served very well.

Another vote for Philips bulbs from Amazon - they can vary hugely in price for the same thing, but a few minutes research will be worth it.

Lapsingpro · 18/01/2019 22:55

IKEA if there's one near you..

Evennow · 19/01/2019 16:24

IKEA LED spotlight bulbs scored well in a Which report.
