Integrated dishwasher / door

We've moved into a new property with no dishwasher. The kitchen will need to be renovated at some point in the future. I'm just wondering if it's possible to buy an integrated dishwasher without the door and use that Indefinitely until we've saved up to replace the kitchen (hopefully in the next couple of years).

Should work, they have a sort of recessed handle on the front which gets covered by the door, so there will be a way to open and close it. You can probably get a door for it fairly cheaply anyway though may not be an ideal match for current kitchen

Yes, we did this and used it for almost 2 yrs before we finally done our kitchen. Doesn't look great but was fine

I wouldn't.... in fact I tried and nearly lost my arm a few times. They are counter weighted for the additional door and if your mid-load the door can easily close with full force. In fact, John Lewis weren't prepared to install it for me without the door. I promptly took their advice and bought a cheap temporary door at Howdens.

Door was about £30 and it looked a damn sight better too, even if it didn't match perfectly.

Really useful, thank you!

We used the door from the cupboard that we had to take out to put the dishwasher in. It's got 2 screw holes from the old handle position but much better than a mismatched door if you can't get the same one.

Oh great idea @Topsyloulou
