Black cooker with silver chimney hood?

Just that really. Would a black cooker look okay with a silver hood? Or vice versa? I am just wondering incase it looks silly as a friend suggested they should both be the same ie both black or both stainless steel. Most of our kitchen appliances are black.

My cooker is black as is the splashback behind it. Cooker hood is silver. I think it looks good, there is other stainless steel elsewhere on the kitchen such as the cupboard handles so it's not totally out of place anyway

Definitely go for silver, you will see all the dust on a black hood! Also it looks so much better!

I can't stand black appliances in any kitchen. I like kitchens to look clean and fresh but black drags them down and makes them look dated and dingy. I would go with stainless steel and similarly replace your other appliances as they die.

What is your kitchen like? I had painted wood and got one made to match.

I have a black range with steel handles and dials etc. Stainless steel hood. I think it looks lovely and not at all dated .

I prefer the black cooker so fingerprints don't show up as much. Had stainless in the past and that was an issue. But that may just be me...I probably don't clean as often as I should!

Thanks for all the replies! Silver hood ordered and we opted for a fun splashback as opposed to plain. DH got carried away and wanted one custom made with pic of Ddog. I had to quickly put my foot down.

My kitchen is similar with white cupboards with grey counter tops Bettyboo but not nearly as fancy.
