What would you replace this with?

Large room that is currently a lounge room. But we are going to have this room as dining/lounge/chilling area when we finally complete.

I am rubbish with interior design...what would you replace this hideous light fitting with? We are going to go with light grey walls I think and timeless white all through the rest of downstairs. It’s a rather large room and will have corner leather sofa at one end and table at the other :-)

Where's the dining table going? Could you have lighting for the table, hanging lower and have wall lights too?

Can you change to spot lights? Will give more light in each part of the room. Or a light like this-
