Master bedroom help!

Moving into a beautiful Edwardian mansion flat soon. Master bedroom has an unusual arch which is filled with beautiful Edwardian panels which are currently white (as are walls, cornices and ceilings). Bed will be best placed in the centre of this arch. It’s a south east facing room with a large sash window. 14 x 12 feet but built in storage on every other wall space currently (will change this around in a year or so when finances allowed).

Anyone have any ideas of what sort of bed would look best beside these panels? Headboard or not? Thinking of painting the panels a darker colour to rest of the room.

Can you post a picture? We live in an Edwardian house and I think I know the kind of thing you mean, but I can't really picture it.

I can’t as I’m not in the place yet but it’s basically an area of panelling- 3 x 3 rectangular panels contained within an arch which is basically a rectangle with curved edges on top. I think it’s hard to put a headboard against it without ruining the panelling effect.

Have you had a look on Pinterest? Look for something like 'bed head with panelling behind'. I think an upholstered, buttoned headboard in an interesting texture could work well - a total contrast to the panelling.

I had been looking on Pinterest but your search terms brought up way more! Thank you, will spend day looking at those!
