tracing owner of abandoned property

Hi MN,

The property next to our rental house has been empty for years and the tenants are complaining of damp on the shared wall (lounge). I did a title search on the LR and the owners registered address is the property, and Santander are the mortgage company.

What on earth do I do now? I don't want damp, not least because my tenants have a little girl.

Send a letter to the owners at the house, it may be automatically redirected. Contact Santander.

Mmn, I have just found out she's dead. An unusual name so she came up on the Orbituaries in the local paper.

Contact Santander and see if they can put you in contact with the executor? Actually, contact the funeral director (probably named in the obituary) and see if they will pass on your contact details to the family.
