Does anyone tip tradesmen?

I have 2 painters in just now (local company) and they are doing a great job. It's been 7-8 mandays of work. They are charging £1000 inc paint.

I feel it's very cheap, but I don't have a comparison, what do you think? I'm considering paying them more as they have been so good. Is tipping tradespeople weird or offensive? I don't want them to assume
I think they are 'poor', they've just been really nice and done a good job.

Roughly how much was the materials? I'd say £125 a day is pretty fair. I've not tipped tradespeople but sometimes rounded up to the nearest £50

I'm not sure I'd guess about £100

Maybe give them gifts instead? A nice bottle of something.

Does seem cheap.

Never been lucky enough to have a tradesperson good enough to think about tipping!

Thanks I'll get them a bottle of something just as a little token.

My dad is a tradesman and often gets gifts as a thank you. His favourites are always food / drink based!
