Stepped Cracking? Should I panic?

Hi all - at it again!

Just had our Homebuyers report back and all was fine however was pointed out we have 'stepped cracks' in the garage. As FTB, I literally have minimal understanding of the implications of this so I wondered if anyone else has had this and what they did? Is it simple to resolve? Or to let it continue?

Quote from report: There is evidence of movement in the form of stepped cracks to the party wall in garage and we recommend this be
monitored by a structural engineer with tell tale gauges to
ensure this is not progressive.

Picture is attached! Any help would be hugely appreciated, not sure what kind of work this expects.

The answer is in the text you have quoted - it might be moving so there could be subsidence. Or it might be historic and have stopped. The survey tells you to have it monitored. The monitoring consists of marking how far apart the gaps are and seeing if this changes over time.

Are there old clay drains nearby? Are there trees nearby? Is the place built on clay soil?
