Moving a water main cost?

We want to remove a supporting wide pillar in our kitchen.

Structural engineer came round, did all calculations.

Now a builder has said that where the RSJ would go would be directly where the water main enters out house (which is at ceiling level, and is where the stopcock is also)

I can't believe the structural engineer would miss this!

It means the whole project may be way out of our price range now. I'm so pissed off.

I am searching on line to see if it is possible/how much but I can't find anything. I've got another builder coming on Friday. But I'm tearing my hair out that we have wasted money on the calculations!

Thanks.
