Keeping Your Child Cool in Summer

I am a design engineering student who is making a product to cool down air temperatures that is cheaper than AC. Would you be interested from the point of view of mothers and fathers and if so what specifically would you want from this type of product?

Hi there!

This kind of thing would be great generally as AC is far too expensive these days. It would be extra helpful as my child gets really agitated when he's hot! After all the warnings about cot death from other mums before having a kid having something to keep the room cold would definitely help set my mind at ease. When you've made it please let us know and i'll happily buy one!

Yes I would- would not want it to be noisy !

I would want it to have a quiet night time mode so that you could sleep with it on. Sounds like a great idea for a product! Smile

Forget my children. They cope just fine. I’m the one who needs to be kept cool.

X posts with nomorewashing! I think size would be important too as many newer houses just don't have the space for extra furniture/equipment (well ours doesn't anyway!)

Sounds interesting . From my perspective the issue with a/c is not just cost but also that it’s very hard to find a space for the external box that won’t look hideous (we are in a terraced house). So any solution that doesn’t require a large outside box would be great.
