Understairs coat hanging and storage

Anyone happy with their hall storage?
In last house I got smart storage to come in and build those under stairs drawers. They were great, but I had a separate area for the coats.
New house, big hallway, but the understairs bit is a bit far away from the entrance.
Would you put coats in the porch? Or have a coat stand, or get something built under the stairs ?
It's annoying cos I put my coat and bag on the stairs atm.
The other porch just goes outside, outhouse really

Our old terraced house has a vestibule (= your porch, but as it's inside it really isn't one). It's approx 1m square & we have a row of 5 hooks on the hinge-side wall. Works very well Smile

If it was a bit wider & longer I'd also have some shoe storage, but there isn't space even for one of those skinny ikea ones with drop-down fronts, so shoes go in the cupboard under the stairs, which in our case - no through hall - is off the back room

As your front door is set away from the side wall - assuming diagram is accurate? - then you could include some great shoe/accessory storage behind the door.

As well as coat hooks in the porch, no reason not to also have longer-term coat storage in your under-stairs cupboard. Our stuff often gets rotated

When you open the front door, the electricity cupboard is behind it. It's only about a metre high, so could put coats above it.
