Council house alterations

Hey I was wondering if anyone who lives/lived in a council house did any alterations to it and if so what? Or if anyone applied for alterations but the request got refused.

Many thanks

Things that get refused are generally those that will have a negative effect on the property. Tenants replace doors, kitchens, bathrooms, etc. Sometimes there is a proviso - you can change X but you must keep the original (often fireplaces)

Often the request is so they know what has been added to the house.

What are you wanting to do?

Rules probably vary between councils, but you might find they stipulate who carries out e.g. any electrical work, or that on they say that vacation of the property the property has to be put back to how it was at the start of the tenancy.
