I work for BT, who actually uses their phones for calls these days?

I find normal telephone calls hideously expensive now and we all use our mobiles for calls out specifically for that reason.

change your phone package to the cheapest one available and don't make outgoing calls.

The house phone is for receiving calls from mum, no one else as we have call blocking telephones to stop nuisance calls, and to run the broadband.

That's an awful lot, can you get a breakdown of why, I'm with BT and pay £43, super fast broadband, unlimited calls and BT TV.

Our BT package was getting ridiculously expensive. Have you been with them a few years? I'd just go to a comparison site and shop around. Though we did find after we switched BT called to try to offer us a far better price...

Perhaps I need to give them a call Sad

Is that monthly or quarterly ?
If it's quarterly then high but not extortionate if monthly then eek!!

Plusnet (part owned by BT) were advertising good deals before Christmas and have a decent rep - it's also worth contacting BT and checking if they have a deal they could put you on as if you are out of your min term you will have reverted to standard prices

I wouldn't touch talk talk with a bargepole after having to deal with their faults desk for my neighbour for over an hour....

Mayrhofen Those of us who don't live in an area with a good mobile signal use our landlines. I use my landline as calls are cheaper than my mobile (but I do live in Belgium). When I move back to the UK this year, I will need my landline, as I don't fancy going up to the attic and hanging out the dormer window to try to get a 1 bar signal on my phone.
