Help! How many light bulbs?

My brain appears to be fugged by one too many mince pies!Blush
We are looking at changing the lighting in the sitting room. The fitting is either 3-arm or 5-arm; the room is approx 12' by 24' and has two fittings points. The bulb is a G9, which is a LED 3w or 280 lumens.

Do we want two 3-arm or two 5-arm? I am much confused by watts-that-aren't-watts and my brain cannot compute.

I don't think 3 bulbs of that size at each end will be enough, so get 5 arm ones.

G9 are a bit fiddly, consider SES which are more common as LED lamps.

Many thanks. We will have to look at the fitting again as I think that it is only configured for a G9. They would say that fiddliness is not a relevant problem - it's supposed to last 20,000 hours so shouldn't need changing much!
