Integrated fridge freezer next to double oven?

What is everyone’s thoughts on this?

Going to order my kitchen tomorrow and now thinking I need to redesign my plan!!

Both appliances are in built in units! I just really wanted a double oven eye level but now I don’t think this is an option!

My new kitchen has the same set up. I questioned it with designer - it's now fitted and fine.

I think it looks fine, my non integrated fridge has always been next to my oven.
Why do you think you need to change it?

@Aph413 I’ve read on a website that placing these appliances next to each other is basically stupid as the fridge is trying to cool things down while the oven is getting hot! It said about placing a bit of insulation between them but 2 pieces of wood should be sufficient!

We have a built under oven and to be honest never felt the cupboard next to it get hot so now I’m thinking I’m gonna leave the plan as it is. I love how it looks and get everything I want from the plan!

If you are worried about the heat, you could put pull out larder unit between the two

We have an integrated fridge freezer next to an oven tower. The kitchen designer designed it that way so all tall units down one end. Never noticed a problem with fridge or freezer efficiency as modern appliances are well sealed.

I'm about to install an integrated fridge and freezer either side of an integrated oven.

As above, you can install a heat shield / deflector in between the units for belt & braces.

Integrated FF's have their own cooling system, so this is fine . A free standing one would have to work a bit harder as no system to cool the mechanism. You will, however, need a 760mm gap between the underside of your hood and the top of your gas hob though, not as this is drawn, as this wouldn't pass the Gas Safe sign off.

@MillStone my husband has just said this to me! I might do that just to put my mind or rest.

@HumptyNumptyNooNoo yea it will be a lot higher than shown in the pic. I just quickly did this on their online planner just to make sure units will fit together and look ok!

You could get it safety checked by OnePlan on Houzz she will safety check for free for a mumsnet or Houzz user

Our integrated fridge freezer is next to the oven and microwave like your set up and all is fine. The sides of the cabinet does not get warm to touch when the oven is on.

Your kitchen is almost identical to mine except hob and sink are the other way round, and we don't have an extractor fan. We didn't want the sink in the breakfast bar as it would spoil the view from the kitchen to the garden. Works fine with no extractor. And fridge is fine next to oven too.

Hi, sorry to jump on such an old thread but I came across this and it is pretty much EXACTLY the same as I've just designed apart from the fact I've got an electric induction hob. I was wondering if you had any photos of the kitchen now installed? Also if you have measurements of the room and kitchen so I know if this is a real life view of what ill be getting. TIA!!

OVENS ARE MUCH BETTER INSULATED THESE DAYS AND SO WILL HAVE LITTLE OR NO AFFECT ON THE COOLING ELEMENT AT THE BACK OF THE F/F AND SO WILL NOT CAUSE HEAT FROM THE OVEN TO PASS OVER TO THE REAR COOLING FINS AT THE BACK OF THE F/F. OLDER STUFF IS DIFFERENT. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME THEN TAKE YOUR OVEN OUT OF THE HOUSING AND FEEL FOR ANY HEAT ON THE OUTER CASING.

We have a full height fridge to the left of our ovens and a full height freezer to the right. No issues at all and as others have said the oven units do not get hot.

We have a full height fridge on one side and full height freezer on one side but what I have noticed is when I turn my oven on the fridge compressor(well I think is the compressor) turns on,so basically some element of the fridge has started to run.
Is this something I should be concerned about?
It’s causing me a lot of stress.
Sorry for jumping in on your post,just a stressed and worried person.

The fridge and freezer we bought this year say they should not be placed next to a cooker/oven. It must depend on the make, I suppose.

I don't think it's a safety problem, not sure how it could be, I'd have thought it just means your fridge may have to work a little harder/be a bit less efficient.

I really wouldn't worry about it or get stressed about it.
