Please could you let me know how the waterproof-ness works around fitting the unit.

Also would you recommend them over tiles?

TIA

We have them. No idea how the waterproofness works as they were in when we bought the house. I like them though. They are nice and warm when you touch them and there is no grout lines to go mouldy.

Yes, we’ve got them. Sorry can’t advise how they are sealed but all seems to work fine. Personally I prefer them to tiles. Warmer and no manky looking grout

Yes - in the one shower we've had them since the room was built over 10 years ago, then when we re-did the main bathroom last year, we had them in there too.
Love them. FAR better not to have grout to keep clean.
Definitely recommend them.
Never had any issues re lack of waterproofness.

They are tongue and groove and sealed with silicone, so the water can’t penetrate the seal. We are using it in our downstairs loo to replace tiles and for boxing in. I’m also considering it for our shower. No mouldy grout.

We have them round our bath which has the shower over, I love them, no grout to go mouldy! There is silicone along the edge between the bath and the wet wall, which our plumber advised we should dry off after every shower so that it doesn’t go all mouldy. We have done this religiously since we had the bathroom done 2 years ago and it still looks good. They are also very easy to clean.

Be careful of darker colours, they scratch very easily and look dreadful in there wrong light

We have shower board in one bathroom. Looks great and is easy to clean. I don't know how the waterproof aspect works but we haven't had any issues.

I have two friends who have had them.and both have had leaks in the seal, one only discovered when the bathroom was replaced. Guess a lot is down to the installation.

Thank you! Food for thought.

Had them in previous and current house, absolutely love them!!!

Sealed with sealant so like with a bath need to keep an eye that it doesn't need replacing. Never had an issue with the wall seals needed redo the one around the shower tray but that would have been the same if it had been tiled I think???
