Social housing starter tenancy and renewal

Hi I am wondering as social housing is no longer for life now is a starter tenancy on probation which if successful you then get a fixed term usually 5 years and this is renewed provided you are still in need eg you haven't met a new partner earning significantly more or inherited money.

Am wondering has anybody come to the end of a social housing tenancy and had a review ? If so what was the process and outcome.

Reason for asking is I'm signing for a starter one and although a review is a long way off it's something I'm wondering . Thanks

Hi OP in the areas I have worked in, the renewal was basically a tick box exercise, unless the tenant had rent arrears/complaints or anti social behaviour, but is does vary depending on the local authority.
Maybe try & get more clarification when you sign your new tenancy.
Good luck in your new home.
