We have not called the dishwasher repair man out because it might be a plumbing issue. What is going on and how can we fix it?

Bosch diswasher, just 2 years old. The filters are clean and clear. When you put it on a regular (or any ther) programme it runs for a while and then stops, makes its little pinging noise and when you open it there is water in the bottom and the cycle has not finished. Sometimes it gets nearly all the way through, sometimes about 1/2 way. It is getting very stinky. It did improve a bit when we used dishwasher cleaner in it every day. It seems to me that it is cutting out because it is having trouble draining rather than simply playing up. Any ideas? after a recent bereavement and a burglary all our days off have been taken up with staying in to make arrangements etc. so would really like this sorted without making yself a pain at work.

Is it near your kitchen sink? Try putting some strong sink cleaner in the sink to see if that helps. Cheaper than a plumber.

Have you cleaned out the filter? Sounds like a blockage somewhere. I agree to cleaning your kitchen sink pipes out with something strong.

It doesn’t seem to be pumping the water out. I would call a plumber if the pipes are blocked and the dishwasher technician if you think it’s the DW. I think it’s the DW.

Please post a photo or diagram showing the route the flexible waste pipe takes, and how it connects to the drain.

If it connects to the sink waste, indicate where the top of the sink is, and where is the highest point in the flexible waste pipe.
