What make/manufacturer traditional thermostatic shower mixer do I want?

I've had enough of the crap & I want something stylish that lasts - preferably with a 10/15yr guarantee. I like concealed but will that be a ball ache in the long run if something goes wrong? I've heard of Crosswater. Who else is good without needing to sell a kidney?

We have Crosswater. They have got to 10 years old. Grohe are also good. No problems with that make either. We have 4 showers in our main house, 2 in our London flat and 4 in our holiday house - so I own a lot of showers. All except one are concealed. The part most likely to go wrong is the controls. Get a trustworthy plumber though. Paying more does get you a better and more stylish product.

I have a basic Aqua Lisa Aquarian shower - £250 ish, it is the 2018 equivalent of the one it replaced in 2004.

I always choose surface mounted, easy if things go wrong but there is little to go wrong in a surface mounted mixer shower.

Aqua Lisa warranty is 3 years. My plumber charged me £45 to swap one shower for another (it was literally the same shape, size, everything which was why I chose it) replace the plug hole/ubend thing for a new shiny one and fix a small leak from the stop cock.

When I had an electric shower in an old house I had to replace it every 24-30 months due to limescale. I just thought of it as a kettle I couldn't descale, but with a mixer shower you don't have to think like that.
