Our new house has hardwood floors downstairs hallway and living room. Although we love the natural look of it, the hallway floor gets really dirty with outside shoes trampling. We do clean it constantly but dark stains on the wooden floor remains unless you scrub really hard with hands and knees.
Thinking tiles, but probably expensive. How about vinyl? Would that be ok for hallway?
I guess either tile or vinyl will be put on top of the current wooden floorboards. But then some of the doors wouldn't open due to raised floor. Does that mean the doors need to be sanded down or cut?! Please anyone do enlighten me!
