Feel like this is probably nobody's fault but my own, but is it just me or does this end panel look awful? It didn't appear like this in the design and it's too late to do anything about it. Trying to rack my brain thinking of a way to use the space but my ideas haven't been great so far (cover with photos?!)

I have a wine rack like yours and took some of the shelves out to make very skinny shelves for cookbooks, could be an option?

Alternatively it might look fine once the kitchen is done!

Verbena87 · 10/12/2018 16:33

Put a couple of hooks on it and use it as a place to hang narrow utensils eg balloon whisk, ladle etc? I don’t think it’s too bad at all.

gassylady · 10/12/2018 16:33

If you took the panel off could you keep trays in there? Or paint with magnetic backboard paint and stick small pics up

Beebee8 · 10/12/2018 16:35

Yeah I'm hoping once the trims are on it'll look less obvious. (By the way there will be more shelves on the rack) its just the big rectangle of blank white is getting to me! Serving as a good distraction from brexit woes though

Pop a sheet of sticky back chalkboard on it and use it as a memo board section

Beebee8 · 10/12/2018 16:41

I didn't even know that was a thing! Sounds like a plan

I would notice it. I would get rid of it and the wine rack and have bespoke shelves to fit beteeen the the cupboard and the wall. It’s a bodge because nothing fits the gap. So it will remain a bodge.

Beebee8 · 10/12/2018 22:16

Yes it was a bit of a bodge by the designer I guess but I'm happy with the chalkboard idea and the kitchen and fitting in general Grin

Hope you can chalk on the top section! You must be tall. It’s a shame this happens in kitchens.

MillStone · 11/12/2018 07:04

Is the middle part with little shelves a wine rack? If yes, can't you have another one the same on on the right. That would look more considered, no?

Bunnymumma · 11/12/2018 07:09

@sirmione16 Beat me to it! Perfect spot for a shopping list chalk board!

PizzaPlanet · 11/12/2018 07:12

I’d leave it and put a trailing plant on top of the cupboard to hang down over it.

mum2015 · 11/12/2018 12:03

Can you get a wider wall cabinet? Can you remove the whole wall cabinet+winerack+filler?

mum2015 · 11/12/2018 12:04

How does rest of the wall look in design?

MovingNextYearHopefully · 11/12/2018 13:56

Looks fine to me, but I'm liking some of the ideas from pp too.
