Done for Christmas??

Extension happening on our house at the mo, extension is up and sealed. Steels to be put up tomorrow and walls taken down. Plastering and kitchen to be done/put in.
Builder insists this will be done by Christmas but I'm not so sure, there seems so much to do. We really wanted it to be complete for Christmas but I don't think it will be, we can spend Christmas Day with family but we really wanted to be in our own place.
Does anyone think the builders can get this done, or am I right in that it won't be completed??

It will really depend on how many people they throw at it, and how big the space and tasks are. I can't imagine it will be completely finished. Plaster needs time to dry before you can paint/fit units in front of it. You may get it nearly finished.
Good luck - we are at the end of our extension/renovation and are keeping everything crossed that we will be finished enough to use it for Xmas!

If it is, you should go out an buy a lottery ticket the next day.

Thanks for the luck, we'll definitely need it! I don't think we'll be in by Christmas which is annoying but if miracles happen and we are, at least it'll be a pleasant surprise!!

Have you planned your kitchen to every last detail eg location of sockets-and switches , wall lights , flooring , wall finishes and plumbing ?

Have you taken delivery of all units, appliances, tiles , flooring , light fittings, sinks and taps?

Kitchen detail has been planned and kitchen being delivered on Wed. All first fix electrics are in and builders have kitchen plans so they know where all appliances etc. are going.

Popped in today and it still looks like there is a lot to do but but the steels are in and more holes in the wall!!

Ooh that sounds promising . Make sure they use the correct plaster board around the steels.

Good job on kitchen
