Has anyone got these blinds?

Saw them in JL today, they’re like two separate layers on top of each other with stripes, some more opaque than others than you can alternate to let light in or not if this makes any sense?

Does anyone have them and if so any pics or opinions please.

Don’t like roller blinds as they’re either up or down but verticals are a bit meh. Venetians are dust traps. These seem a happy medium!

I don’t have them but for googling images I think they are called zebra blinds or day and night blinds

Ilovealexa · 08/12/2018 21:18

Zebra blinds is the perfect name haha!

Thanks for that :)

Wasn’t sure if they looked officey ...

Yes they are day and night blinds, we looked at having them but they cost more than having windows replaced Grin
If anyone knows a cheap place please share!

My in laws have these blinds in their play room, and I think they look so officey. (Did use it as an office before it became a play room) they work well. But don't look the nicest

Ahh! This was my concern. They looked lovely in JL but when I googled they did look a bit corporate :(

Seemed a great happy medium between rollers or verticals.

Are verticals still seen as the work of the devil?

How about this type of blind? bottom up

HopeAndJoy16 · 08/12/2018 22:04

We have them (from b&q) in a natural hessian shade and think they look nice enough. We're in a terraced house which looks directly onto the street so need privacy but also need the light. I don't think they look officey and so far the cat hasn't pulled them down!

Aldi do a special on these a couple of times a year.

Not sure about the bottom up ones! Like the idea but they look a bit odd.

I like those Hope and think think they could look homely in the right room.

I've seen them up in other people's house and they look neat, an not officey if the house is homely, but it does my head in looking through them and not getting a clear view out.

Blinds2go do them and they seem good value

Ifonlyiweretaller · 10/12/2018 21:08

I've had them fitted in my dressing room. I think they look modern and stylish, not like office blinds at all. The only thing I have noticed is they dont let in quite as much light as I'd like (although it is a dark room to start with) but I needed something there for privacy. I got mine form 24/7 blinds.

We have them in the kitchen and family room. They are great mostly and don’t look officey at all (I like the stripes). However, they can be a pain to open completely cos you have twice the blind to lift iyswim.

They are fab though. Don’t let masses of light in but we have them in a south facing room with lots of windows so they’re fine.
