Lease Extension problem

Hi Everyone
I was hoping for some advise if anyone can help please:-
I am in the process of selling my flat and my buyer has extended the lease on the flat at the same time. He has picked up the cost of this, however, the problem now is that he had a mortgage in principle dependant on the lease extension and the property chain is now ready to exchange (or so I thought) but my buyers bank is not happy with the lease extension and wants clarification of a clause regarding the Housing Act 1988 section 8 being included in the lease. Now solicitor has had to go back to the freeholder solicitor for clarification and we are not getting any response. Solicitors don't seem to be chasing and everyone in the chain is getting frustrated. Without this clause being added the bank won't release funds. They haven't said no just dealing with it. How can we put pressure on them to pull their finger out and type in this one line?

Thanks for any advise

Get the estate agent to chase anyone they can. It's part of their job to be annoying.
