Meeting with ikea kitchen designer later trying to design a new kitchen preferably practical stylish and on the cheap.

We have small square kitchen
Curved archway leading onto large dining room.
The window is in the left
Ovens currently middle back wall.
There's currently wall cupboards on back wall which i feel block out light especially one nearest the window.

The sink is under the window.
Currently theres washing machine cupboard then sink to the right.

I want to squeeze in dishwasher slim line.

So have archway to the left of the room washing machine / dishwasher integrated but only leaves space for 1 small sink.

So probably have 1 metre maybe 1.5 worktop above washing machine and dishwasher to the left of the sink.

I want a electric range style oven 6hobs but that's wider do leaves maybe metre slightly less worktop either side if oven stays on back wall.

We have 4kids so would love double oven and 6hobs. I love cooking.

Then to the right hand side corner of back wall and left hand wall corner the ceiling high powered for around 1 metre due to stairs then high increases all the way upto the left hand side of archway.

One designer has suggested I move the oven to the left wall opposite the sink/washing machine.

We also wanted 1 floor to ceiling cupboard nearest arch left hand side opposite washing machine.
We can't put one where washing machine is as would block out half the window unless we put smaller window on as it needs replacing anyway.
As i like symmetry.

We have alcoves in dining room where was thinking add freezer and condesner drier in big alcove and matching kitchen cupboards floor to ceiling in the other.
Love those pantry cupboards whwre toaster and coffee machine is hidden.

We want big draws in kitchen more so than cupboards.

In back wall some open shelving as won't block out the light like wall cupboards would.

To the left was thinking 2 wall cupboards and 1 floor to ceiling but now if we move the oven to left unsure

Can't put island or butchers trolley in middle as its too small.

We might only have 3 metres of worktop.
Not continuous metres.
But 1 metre in 3 separate places.
Is this enough?

We looked at current kitchen today

We probably have 6 to 7 metres of worktop and only use same 2 metres.
1 metre above fridge then oven then metre other sidr of oven where kettle is and nearest the sink as out sink is under the window.
We have loads worktop right hand side of current large rectangular u shape kitchen where we keep bread bin.
We dont really use that worktop at all to the left.

Also we like quartz or corian worktops so less metres would be less money.

Can we survive with only 3 metres of work space

Can I suggest two single ovens side by side and normal size hob. Hob doesn't need to be over the ovens. It would give more workspace and more choice of positioning. Do you actually need 6 rings at once? I don't but big oven space is useful.

Thanks fabulous I have comprimised we having built in oven and 4 electric induction hobs.

The oven and extraction fan is staying centre middle of back wall.
Decided on no shelves and maybe save money half the wall tiled but also investigating glass splashback.
We having 1 floor to ceiling cupboard far left near archway.
We having 2 narrow corner cupboards.
Having 2 wall cupboards on back left wall.
Microwave is going to live in floor 5o ceiling cupboard.
Just toaster and kettle will be left out on top.

Gone for black oven with draw underneath as black cabinets and doors.
Gone for white induction hob as white worktops.
Even added white tap and sink as want underglued
The plan is done looks good think allows 4metres worktop.
To fit dishwasher we have had to go for small sink.
She said ikea dishwashers best fit but will get other quotes for oven and hob.

Quoted £1500 for fit not as bad as thourght but 10 week lead time.
They will rip out old kitchen but have feeling it will all have be plastered and painted and new window fitted before they can fit kitchen.

Getting an independent local quote on fitting.

Only issue is and really annoying is I think kitchen person was new she had never sold acyrilic work top or sink.
I have a feeling the quote she have me is vastly wrong by as much as 500 pounds.
We had been in there 2 hours and had dash for school run husband had lost will to live.

Going to get 2 quotes local showrooms for quartz and 1 for corian.
I know worktop was going to bump it up.

Think we got balance of worktop space and storage.

Just have work out total costs
