Just posting I guess as I’m so stressed. I live in a 1 bed council flat. Which I’m incredibly lucky to have. And I do LOVE living here to be honest. But since moving in I’ve had constant issues with the kitchen. Earlier on I went to wash bottles. (I have a baby. So it’s me and baby living here) and I noticed my cupboard at the very bottom was sort of splitting like the wood was splitting. I took a closer look. And found a huge leak!!! It’s all under my washing machine and all the way to the wall on the side cabinet :( it’s sosking underneath this isn’t the first time but it’s definitely the worst!!! All the boards at the bottom of the cupboard (the ones that cover the opening like the gap between the cupboard and the floor (if you get me) are drenched stink of horrid water and are mouldy how I’ve only just seen it i don’t know but it must of been happening a while to get like that. I’ve had trouble with it before more than once actually. The work men say is fine and nothings wrong. But the previous time someone came to fix the leak because you couldn’t wash up and have the washing on at the same time. Like if the machine was on and you turned the tap on for a glass of water let’s say water would literally pour out like a hose from the pipe underneath just behind the washing machine so that was sorted and I was told it’s all fine now nothing to worry about. The time before that a man came and told me I will have constant issues with drainage and sewage because the kitchen hadn’t been fitted correctly. He said all the pipe work is incorrectly done and it’s a very shoddy job :( This is the worst it’s ever been as I say it’s an awful lot of water!! . But it’s a constant issue I’m always phoning about.
Don’t get me wrong like I said I love me flat. It’s tiny but it’s our little home for me and my baby. It’s warm cosy and a roof over our heads so we are happy here. It’s just a constant stress with the leaking kitchen. And I now have mouldy cupboards.... :( I will phone council tomorrow to see if they can send anyone out to see if there’s any solution. But yeah. Guess I just wanted to rant a little as it’s such a frustrating thing that’s always ongoing. Baby’s still on formula too so I still have bottles to wash feeds so make with a leaking kitchen I’m sure I’ll get by I can use the bathroom to wash up and make sure bottles are scrubbed which I have no issue in doing. I’m just a little down about having to deal with this leak all the time!! :( x
