Hi everyone. Bit of a pickle here. We live in the north east and my partner has been offered a job down south, London. We are looking around the area, Luton, Hemel Hampstead ect. The prices to rent 2 bed houses is so expensive. Plus, with having our 2 year old son. Means my wages will pay for his nursery and my partners will just pay for the rent/bills. How can we overcome this ? Any help will be greatly received, thank you.

Move further out or a less desirable area, find a smaller place or a better paid job... London is expensive, the sacrifice is usually size, price or commute

Am qualified as a care support worker for LD. But the pay is just shocking.even commuting isn’t cheap 😮

Have you checked Croydon? In contrast to the general comments on internet, Croydon has a lot of friendly people who are ready to help. Despite the fact that London can be an expensive place to live considering rents and other expenses, I think you can always vary your rental options. For example personally I recommend this site for different rental options.

If you need to be in Luton or Hemel (is that where the job is?) they are already relatively cheap areas. You could try Milton Keynes, which is fairly easily commutable to both.

Croydon is absolutely nowhere near Luton though, depends where you need to be based.
