If you live here what are the great and not so great things about it?! How would you sum it up (though I am aware you can never really sum up a place in a few words - all dependant on experience and opinions)
We know it's a naice town with decent schools but traffic is terrible! What else? Do you like or loathe living there?

shopping is great
lots of great parks
restaurants and cafes
near to countryside/beaches
traffic can be bad but ok during school holidays. A21 has made a huge difference to the traffic
fantastic new hospital
some not so great areas to avoid - Sherwood, Ramsley, High Brooms
good schools are St Peters and St James, lots of great grammar schools. the academy not great though. catholic schools are great too

Boring, stuck up, insular, 4x4 traffic congested, competitive parenting, keeping up with the Jones, no community spirit, no soul

One of the happiest place to live according to a recent Rightmove survey.

Love it. Live in a village outside but considering a move in now teens are are away a lot at uni. Spend a lot of time in the town.

The only thing putting us off - the traffic. It’s truly terrible.

A bit Stepford Wives according to my friend who moved there then returned to London. I like to visit there but it is a small town with all that entails and the traffic is bad.

I used to live in a small town close by. It's a nice enough place but very two tier with the have & have nots, like London & Brighton. If your kids are lucky enough to get into the grammar school then great, if not then the local comp wasn't particularly highly regarded, if that's something important to you. It gets very congested in the town traffic wise. Over all it's a nice place. High brooms is the not so desirable part, but it's more affordable.

If you can find it, Grayson Perry did a documentary on the middle classes that involved Tunbridge Wells as one of the places he went to.

It's a nice town, but very middle England (not really my thing, but some people like that!).

Thanks I'll take a look at that.
