Any plumbers about? Boiler question

We’ve just had a beautiful new Baxi megafow system installed and it’s brilliant. My question is: the plumber has not installed a scale filter and claims that if he does it will reduce the flow, he seems really unwilling to do it. However the scale filter is required for the warranty and he has ticked the box to say that it’s been installed. Will this invalidate the warranty? Should we make sure he does it? Will it shorten the life of the boiler if it isn’t done? We are in London- fairly hard water. Thanks

Yes a scale filter should be installed and it will invalidate the warranty. Regardless of what he has ticked they will simply see it's not there if you have to call them out. Get him back in and get him to fit it. He should also have fitted a magnaclean and flushed the system.

Thanks yes they did the magnaclean and the power flushing. I’ll make sure they do the scale filter then.
