Fitting an integrated dishwasher - DIY or not?

We need a new integrated dishwasher. I've researched options and more-or-less picked one, and found the retailer with a competitive price - Appliances Direct. I was just about to go ahead and buy it when I looked at the optional extras - delivery is free, but if I want it fitted that will be £159. I've checked some other retailers and they don't seem to offer fitting.

Is fitting an integrated dishwasher something that is difficult to do? If we don't choose the fitting option from the retailer, will we be able to do it ourselves or will we need to get someone out to do it anyway? Is £159 a typical price or expensive?

My DP did this a few weeks ago and it was fine, but he's very good at DIY and has numerous tools. It can be a bit fiddly with the door etc., but most of the work was preparatory work for getting the space ready (ie. removing the cabinet, drilling holes to feed pipes through etc) as we hadn't had one in there before.

If it's just fitting a new appliance into an existing space that's ready for it, then if you or partner are relatively handy, it's not a big job. I also think that's a high price for fitting; Ao offered it for £80 when we bought ours. You could always try it yourself and get a local tradesman out if you struggle.

Thanks - I phoned a local guy and he charges £60 for the same thing, so I guess that answers one of my questions.

AO delivered & fitted my dishwasher 2 years ago, less than £100.

Can be easy job if new dw is identical size, fittings, waste pipe etc. can be difficult if any of those things are not the same. you can take a risk chosing a bargain one yourself. or you can use an independant retailer who will advise on model and fit for a reasonable price.
