Hi all,

This is a really odd question but we are moving house on 8th December, and we have our completion meeting with the solicitors next week to sign contracts etc... does anyone know roughly how long this meeting takes? I have to manoeuvre things around work that's all and like being prepared.

TIA Smile x

That sounds archaic! Most of these things are done by correspondence. Best to ask the solicitor how long you need to allow. Have you had their report on title, etc yet? If not they'll probably present it and ask you to read it and satisfy yourselves you are happy with it before you proceed.

From memory I think ours took around 45 minutes. It was to look through some very old deeds and sign.

Difficult to day really. I was in there about half an hour this time. I'd allow a good hour in case the appointment starts late or runs over.

Nice that you've got a definite date so far ahead.

*moving date

Thank you all Smile

@Vitalogy I know we've dropped really lucky actually, there's no chain on either side and the house is already vacant, after reading horror stories about solicitors and everything else ours have been fantastic and kept in constant contact updating us all the way! I thought my stress levels would be through the roof but I'm very relaxed lol!Grin
