Buying a house cash with no searches - how long

To start with let me say this isn't me - I have had every search and survey done for our house Confused

However I wondered if anyone buying cash had ever bought without a survey or searches and if so, what the timescale was on the purchase (ie what is there left for the solicitors to do!)

Still need to agree the terms of the sale and solicitor usually has to check the source of funds (fraud prevention), plus the seller is the legal owner! Then there is the transfer time (money and form to Land Registry).

The solicitor is insured for the transfer of funds too if anything goes wrong.

Not done without searches or a survey, think you'ld be crazy to do that.

Bought in cash and can take around 4 weeks from offer to completion if done same day as exchange, that's a minimum though. Our current house has small mortgage, survey and searches and was 6 weeks offer to completion but I have a good solicitor and chain free and I nag. I'm not even sure a solicitor would let you buy without searches.
