We are paying a painter and decorator to repaint our Lounge. Not done this before and he's asked is to clear as much as the room as poss
How clear will it need to be?
Can I move sofas etc to middle of room (quite a wide room) and they'll cover them? Or do I have to move everything out ? (Don't know where to?!)
Do I need to take all picture hooks out of the wall? (Quotes for filling as well so assuming so just seems a bit of a faff for the little hooks that I'll want to put straight back in after)

Hi op

Remove anything breakable.
Pictures, ornaments and mirrors.
Any lamps or clutter.
Unplug tv and move it with bulkier furniture to middle of room.
Remove curtains/blinds.

Decorator should supply dust sheets to protect your floor and furniture.

When I've had the decorators in, I've cleared all the small stuff, but larger items, settee, armchairs, I've left in the middle of the room and he's been happy to work around them. Moving them a bit when painting the ceiling. Re the picture hooks, I didn't remove all mine, so he painted round them.
