Kitchen is done and I'm delighted.
Should I paint this chimney breast wall in the same blue, or leave white?
And what would you do with the windows? I'm inclined to leave them uncovered. We're not overlooked.

This was my original inspiration for the fireplace
This is mine now

Very nice, OP!

pepperjack · 16/11/2018 17:53

Thanks
But these last couple of decisions are driving me crazy.
I also need some sort of wall light for that wall next to the chimney breast

What company is the kitchen and island. I like it.

pepperjack · 16/11/2018 18:11

It's a local independent, In the North West. Any good?

I think paint blue!

kenandbarbie · 16/11/2018 18:13

And no need to cover windows.
Looks gorgeous by the way!!

7salmonswimming · 16/11/2018 18:14

Lovely!

Burnished gold or bronze paint or wallpaper for the wall? A rich warm colour basically. Will bring the floor and units together. Or maybe Moroccan tiles, laid in a mosaic? Some of them in the same blue as your units. And then a mirror and light fixture on the wall next to it.

For the wall next to it, if you go with a gold or bronze colour, I’d put a painting or photo plus a light fitting that illuminates it.

I love clean lines and sharp angles in kitchens, but I also need homeliness. It tricky striking the right balance, but not impossible!

pickingdaisies · 16/11/2018 18:15

I like the window uncovered. Can't decide about the blue or white chimney breast though...

sleepwhenidie · 16/11/2018 18:17

Gorgeous OP - the suggestion of a bronze wall is brilliant, would look amazing with that blue and add glamour and warmth.

pepperjack · 16/11/2018 18:22

Ooh I hadn't even thought of a different colour!

Vitalogy · 16/11/2018 18:24

Yes, I'd paint the chimney breast the same blue and leave doors uncovered.

notsomumsymum · 16/11/2018 18:24

Are you the user that was having a wobble about the blue units the other week? They look lovely!

pepperjack · 16/11/2018 18:27

I can't do any more tiles
That second fireplace photo is mine, tiled.

OP posts:
pepperjack · 16/11/2018 18:29

Not me, I had a bit of a drama about the tiles, they had to be redone !

I know this is a bedroom wall, but picture this:

I think the suggestion of bronze or copper is inspired. I'd totally go for that.

pickingdaisies · 16/11/2018 19:15

Love t idea of a bronze wall!

sleepwhenidie · 16/11/2018 19:16

I can't find any paint or paper that has a truly metallic finish (Ralph Lauren looks good but can't find it available anywhere) so I'd be using this...

Sorry no advice but I was just wondering where your floor is from? I love it!

pepperjack · 16/11/2018 19:44

Floor is from Ted Todd, it's called sandbank

I'm in the NW, would be interested (have done kitchen but will store for next time, it's beautiful).

And Yes, I'd paint the chimney breast. What about a grey?

Rollerbird · 16/11/2018 20:12

I'm in the nw
Am interested in the kitchen

pepperjack · 16/11/2018 20:46
