Combi Boiler. How much with installation?

We have an ancient conventional boiler (with big tank type of thing), we are thinking of replacing the boiler for a combi one. No idea about the prices, but they seem really expensive. Also trying to make a comparison on google proves an impossible task as it brings all sorts of things and prices. How much did you pay for your combi Boiler + Installation? Which boiler brands and companies did you use (if you don't mind me asking)?
I have been told Big Companies like British Gas overcharge. But at the same time, which small companies can you trust and give you peace of mind? Nobody likes to end up with cowboys companies while trying to avoid being overcharged by the big sharks.

By the way, we live in South East London in a 2 bedroom house with 1 bathroom.

We replaced our conventional heating system (hot and cold water tanks) with a Worcester combi for £4000. Ours is a 3 bed, 1 bathroom so bigger than yours. That included the boiler, new pipes everywhere, new rads and labour. We are also in south east inside m25.

We had a swap to a really decent Worcester boiler white huge outpost for £5k, but the quote with install for a smaller boiler was £2.5k and for a similar non Worcester boiler was £1.8k. We went for the expensive one because it’s a 3 bathroom house, but you wouldn’t need that. The guy that visited us did say you pay more for Worcester name, but there are other very good decent boilers available. North west.

We had our old conventional boiler replaced with a combi system.
3 bed 2 bathrm house in SE.
Lots of work needed for new pipes including scaffolding for access.
Got 3 estimates from local firms, all around £4,500. We were put off by the vagueness of how long the work would take, "a week or so", also were told there may be increased costs depending on how the work went.
We ended up with British Gas. Unexpectedly they were the cheapest. Fixed quote of £3,800, Worcester boiler and work to be completed in 3 days.
Brilliant service, two gas engineers working flat out for 3 days and other workers, electrician, builder, scaffolders coming and going when needed.

3 bed in Greater London, 1.6k for a straight swap of old boiler for valiant with 7 years warranty and new thermostat. Small company , Gas Safe and I checked and it is now registered on the Gas safe website. 1 day work only.
