Moving Sky cable...

We've rearranged living room so want to poke Sky cable back into garage then poke back through existing hole to a different spot in the room.

However, everything I can find online looks like I need really specialist tools to remove / replace the end piece. And it won't go through the hole with it still attached as it's too big.

Am I going to have to pay ££££ for a specialist Sky call out which will take 5 minutes to do?!?

You can do this you self. You could seperate the the plug with strong tug I’d you lucky are reuse the same one if it’s not too loose when you put it back on. Otherwise an F connector tool and plugs are from £5 on eBay if you want to do it properly. YouTube video will show you how.

Ask Sky if they charge for moving the socket. We did an extension and Virgin sent an engineer to run service to new open plan room and upstairs bedroom for no charge a couple of years back.

We had the virgin connection moved this week, and it cost £165. £100 to virgin to move the box, and £65 to a local odd job man to re route the wires across the external wall.

I've tried tugging and with pliers etc but can't pull the connectors off.

I will call Sky tomorrow and ask if they will charge. If they do I'll have a look on eBay!

When did you last renegotiate with Sky? You may be out of contract so can give notice if they won't come and sort it for you. They'll soon come to some sort of arrangement.
