Sulphurous smell

We've recently moved house. Every few days, and sometimes more often, there's a sulphurous smell in the kitchen, but I can't work out where it's coming from. It just seems to be in the air, rather than obviously coming from a sink or appliance. I've occasionally smelt it outside too. Any advice on what to do or who to call?

It sounds like it could be hydrogen sulphide gas from a sewer.

No idea who to call - maybe call the environmental health department at the your local council, or your water company for some advice.
