Pale grey paint?

I’m after a pale grey paint for my newly plastered hall stairs and landing. We have Egyptian cotton in most rooms but I fancy something slightly different. The hall is pretty dark due to have not much light and upstairs has no windows onto the landing so dark there too. So nothing too dark but I do want a contrast against brilliant white ceilings and woodwork. I’ve sampled Dulux polished pebble and pebble shore which both look a bit ‘beige’ on the bare plaster. White mist is a possibility but is it too ‘white’.

We are paying a decorator and I can’t afford an expensive mistake! So any tips welcome.

Have a look on the home decorating section. They have hundreds of threads on grey paint... they are the masters!

Crown's Sail White? It's very pale but definitely a contrast to pure brilliant white.

We have B&Q Light Rain it's a really nice light grey 😊

Never used it but heard lots of bad reports on the b& q valspar range of paints , so would recommend using crown , dulux, Johnston's etc for whatever colour you choose

Dulux chic shadow is lovely!

Ohyesiam · 13/11/2018 21:45

F&B pavilion grey, it’s the most perfect colour!

Dulux goose down.

Speaking - heard the same , apparently it stinks?

I've read many times it can peel off the wall and leave a dreadful finish needing to be stripped off and repainted

This is the one I used from B&Q, no problems with it peeling off or anything so far

I'm with @Ohyesiam. We have pavillion grey (colour matched not real F&B) and I love it! It's a mid grey. Our hall isn't that bright but it looks great.

BubblesBuddy · 13/11/2018 23:08

Wevet by F&B is a very pale grey and brightens up any space. Cornforth White is also a grey but is very easy to live with. It’s quite a warm grey. We have F&B in every room and no problems at all. Elephants Breath with pure white woodwork also looks very chic.

Little Greene - French Grey mid. It's a true grey, no blue tone and there is also a darker and lighter shade if you want to look at those as well.

The emulsion is washable. Our decorator recommended LG to us, we've never used anything else since. Prefer it to F&B.
