Anyone done a Taupe colour scheme? Looking for ideas for paint colours that I can carry through the house.

I have a blank canvas with currently the kitchen cupboards the only colour in the house with is Laura Ashley Pumice.

TIA

Elephants Breath by Farrow and Ball is my “go to” taupe colour. Looks stunning with white woodwork. It’s neutral enough to go with anything but we have it with pale blues and coral accents in the sitting room and with lime green and a deeper taupe in a bedroom. It is very versatile.

Always get testers and try in different areas of the room as the light in the room at different times of day can make a colour look very different. For example, the combinations Bubbles has suggested would look awful in our house as the brown of EB would be more pronounced than the grey.

We've got a lovely Laura Ashley paint called Twine in our living room, I wonder if that counts as taupe?

Thanks guys - I’ve gone through loads of testers - but aren’t brave enough to limp for one yet !

Look at actual colour schemes on line - F&B have loads. See if those rooms and spaces mirror yours. Then you will know if the hues in the colours can work in a whole room. We actually have gone lighter than EB in our open space areas. However we have an abundance of natural light but you need to think if you want a light giving colour or something a bit darker. Hardwick White could work for you too.
