The plastic screw-in thingy has broken. It is supposed to screw in to secure the lampshade...

I have no clue! Can I buy one from somewhere if I know what it’s called?

You can buy them at B&Q. Lampshade adaptor. Lampshade ring reducer/converter gets you there on Amazon.
