Brexit - would you delay doing major houseworks because of it?

We are planning to do a basement and ideally I would like to do it as soon as possible. We are trying for a third, and my thoughts are it would be better for the basement to be finished or almost finished before the baby arrives. While works are being done, we could move out and live in a rented two bedroom. But if we waited until after having a third, then we would definitely need to rent a 3 bedroom and it would be a lot more stressful I think being squeezed in a smaller house. However, a friend suggested to wait until after Brexit to do any major building works. I don't see how this would change the fact that we want a basement. Its not like basements will suddenly get cheaper after Brexit. Anyone know why it would be beneficial to wait until after Brexit?

the whole problem with Brexit at the moment is that no one knows for sure what sort of Brexit it will be & what the impact is. It could lead to shortages, it might not.
Personally I'd get it done, if for no better reason I don't think being pregnant whilst managing with major building work is conducive.
