Adding a porch

We are buying a house that needs a lot of work. We want to add a porch to the front of the house, around 1.5m x 2m. Does anyone have any idea of what we might look to pay for this? We think doing this would be a good use of space and would mean we wouldn't have to enter straight into the kitchen. Also, would we need planning permission for this, no other extensions have ever been added to the house.

We are considering doing just this. I believe there is a price differential between adding an extension and a conservatory (cheaper) but From basic googling I came up with £7,000-9,000. Interested to see how far off the mark that is though!
In our case it would be used for coats/shoes etc via the back entrance (terrace house).

You will need PP for a porch bigger than 3m2. Granted 3m2 is ridiculously small by the time you've factored in 2 door swings so doesn't give a lot of space for storage.

Also consider if you are in a conservation area as this may affect PP along with size.

Also AINB and even green belt can make a difference! For a standard open porch, about £5000. When you add in fancy glass doors and construction it can be a lot more.

Thank you! The house isn't in any protected areas so hoping we can do it. Will make such a difference to how we will use the house if we can do it.
