Bought our first house just over 2 years ago. New build (well 6 years old), lovely house, we haven’t had to do any major work to it other than a bit of redecorating, and the garden which was a pile of soil and rubble. There’s nothing pushing us to move, its big enough for us it’s on a nice road and while not in our ideal location it’s pretty close. The only downsides are the garden is v small, no driveway or garage therefore no potential to extend at all and parking tricky.
There is a house on the market nearby we are very interested in and have been to view, in our ideal location. It’s similar size and same number of bedrooms as our current house but would be a huge renovation project (which we are both well up for- have always wanted a project) plenty of room to extend. The garden is bigger, has beautiful views on to protected field and woodland and there is a garage and long driveway.
We are currently in the process of putting our house on the market ASAP. Just curious of others opinions- are we mad to be leaving our perfectly lovely home for a big project? And for the same number of bedrooms?
