Cheaper Rent

I need some advice...(please don't judge our finances - it's rough at the moment but we are trying hard to get them better)
My DH has just started an electrician apprenticeship and is on minimum wage. We pay rent, have credit cards to pay off and a loan.
It may sound random but I've watched shows about people who decide to live in canal boats or campervans or park homes or similar to save money on rent and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on this?
Or know someone who has done this before?
We have an 18 month old little boy as well, but at this stage in our lives we really feel like we need to cut back on something and the rent is the only thing we can try and cut back on.
We don't buy anything unless absolutely necessary and we only buy basic foods/anything from the reduced section.
Does anyone have any advice on the living situation please?

Thank you!

What do you do? Are you a sahm ? Are you claiming the benefits you are entitled too especially whilst your partner is on a low wage?

Have you looked at the money saving expert forums they are excellent for ideas on how to make your money work for you.

We're claiming the benefits we are entitled to. We have put to practice every trick we can from Martin's website...we are being extremely sensible and strict.
Unfortunately the fact is that our income makes us break even every month...just.

So i was just wondering if some people live differently or uniquely to save them some money 😊

We looked at canal boats for a while but to be honest it was no cheaper than renting where we are now and we're then, in other areas that may vary.

Do you have a room you could rent our or air bob?
