My insurance broker has increased the cost of buildings insurance from £650.00 to over a £1000.00, no idea why, so am shopping around.

Can anyone recommend their insurance company for thatched property?

thanks.

We used to own a thatched holiday cottage, insurance of 1750 pa 10 years ago.

We got it reroofed when the thatch was rotting, in slate. Still get as many customers each year, insurance is around £300

Neighbour is with NFU and pays £1,000, smaller house but fires. They refused to insure ours but told us about Lloyd and White.

Try NFU

oyYou · 05/11/2018 16:00

hi,
thanks for your time, i am waiting for NFU to come back to me, and L&W have initially quoted £900. I have no fireplaces either, so will keep searching.!!
