Hi,
I am the owner of a flat on the middle floor of a 3 floor victorian building. The owner of the top floor flat (shared Freeholder with us) has installed laminate flooring throughout her property without soundproofing. She has also reconfigured the layout so that none of the rooms align vertically and the living room, which is at the front in our flat, is now above my daughters room. She has then installed tenants into the property who consist of x2 adults and x3 children, one of which is 19 months old and runs up and down the length of the flat all day everyday in shoes. The noise is terrible. My daughter cant sleep in her room and is currently in with me due to the loud banging and talking from the family above. They bang constantly and the noise of them walking & talking is ridiculous. Has anyone had similar problems and if so is there anything I can do? I want to install sound proofing but the upstairs owner is unwilling to do anything other then tell them to pipe down. Any advice?
