Mortgage advice

I want to buy out my husband from our joint mortgage. To do this I will need to remortgage (probably with a different company) and add additional borrowing to the amount. If I do this can I extend the term of the mortgage at the same time? Will I have to pay stamp duty to buy the house from him? Thanks

You can extend the term subject to how many years you have before retirement age. You will not have to pay stamp duty if you and your husband bought the house together originally.
