Help! How to dress a bay window?

Hit me with your pics of how to dress a bay window. I have a 1930s style semi with two bay windows. I’m fairly sure I don’t want shutters but am stuck for how to dress a bay window and create some much needed wow!

Anyone have any pics or ideas of what you did with your bay?

Many thanks!

I'm not much help but I've just bought a house with a bay, I'm putting shutters in it. And I plan to keep a vase of flowers on it, nice and simple!
But I do plan on decorating it for halloween with some pumpkins, and leaves :)

I have a victorian semi with gorgeous bay windows.
When we bought the house it had curtains which did not show it off-
afraid to say we also have shutters and they are brilliant.
Room looks bigger and they are so versatile re lighting etc
Why don't you want shutters?
I find pinterest fantastic for this sort of thing!

Maybe not so much help as it is LOTS of shutters

I don’t have anything against shutters- our neighbour has them in all their windows. I must say I like the half shutter and half blind look but I’m not sure I’d ever clean behind them! Shock

I’ve been trawling Pinterest but there is a lot of shutter stuff and wondered if anyone had something else!

I would stick with nice floor-length curtains and possibly roller blinds over the top part of the windows - but I live in a Victorian house where you need curtains to help keep the cold out!

Very stylish friend has off white skinny linen blinds - Roman I think?

Piccalillisnooze · 23/10/2018 00:18

SLUBBY. Not skinny. Although they are quite thin blinds come to think about it.

Bay windows look great with roman blinds. If you really want to dress them to the max you could have romans, curtains and a pelmet

Roman blinds can look really good, yy if you want to go really dressy the pelmet/curtains as well.

We have a box bay window and have had roman blinds for the past 12 years. We are just going back to curtains. I quite like shutters but dh wasn’t at all keen.

Roman blinds with thin dress curtains look lovely.

We’ve got a Victorian house with 4 bays (upstairs and down, front and back). We’ve got floor length curtains and cafe style nets (nice modern ones!) for the front ones. Shutters do look nice but they weren’t for us as we wanted the rooms to feel cosy and keep some heat in from the windows (which we should replace...).
