Am I being silly?

So we are edging closer to exchange (deposit paid and contracts signed) and our solicitor needed more confirmation of gifted deposit for my DP grandad. Well he is technically his step grandad which he put on the solicitors letter but the mortgage company one said grandad (he married DP grandmother in 1977 so has been "granddad" his entire life)
Will this cause an issue? The mortgage company said they accepted gifted deposits from anywhere regardless of source as long as they have proof so I'm more worried about the legal side?

No - you're overthinking it.

Nope. Can you take him with you to the solicitors? My grandmother gifted us some money towards our house (she is living in it too)
She had to fill a form out from the mortgage company explaining that she wouldn’t get the money back if it was repossessed and that because she had given money as a gift she had no entitlement over the house

He's been in already, luckily he lives round the corner! I was just worried as there would be a discrepancy it could cause problems. Thank you both!
